The UTME or O’ Level requirements to study Marine Engineering in any university in Nigeria is as follows:
Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one Science subject .
JAMB UTME subject combination requirements to study Marine Engineering in Nigerian universities
JAMB UTME subjects are the subjects which you must write in the JAMB Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The UTME subject combination requirement for Marine Engineering is as follows:
Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
Direct Entry requirements to study Marine Engineering in Nigerian universities
The Direct Entry requirements to study Marine Engineering in any university in Nigeria is as follows:
(i) ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and Mathematics.
(ii) ND/HND upper credit at appropriate levels.
Special considerations for Direct Entry
i. NDU – Same as in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.
ii. RSU in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements accepts:
(a) HND (Lower Credit) in relevant discipline.
(b) OND/ND (Upper Credit) in relevant disciplines.
(c) At least three (3) ‘A’ level passes at GCE in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
iii. FUPRE requires ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Special considerations for UTME
i. NDU – Same as in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.
ii. RSU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics or Further Mathematics and any other subject.
iii. MARITIME-UNI requires five (5) credits at SSCE or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Further Mathematics/Data Processing/Technical Drawing for Marine Engineering.
For Marine Economics and Finance MARITIME-UNI requires five (5) credits at SSCE or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other Social Science subjects.
Special considerations for UTME SUBJECTS
(i) MARITIME-UNI requires Mathematics, Economics and one other Social Science subject for Marine Economics and Finance.
