UTME / O’ level subject requirements to study Nutrition and Dietetics or Human Nutrition and Dietetics in Nigerian universities
The UTME/ O’ level subject requirements to study either Nutrition and Dietetics or Human Nutrition and Dietetics in any university in Nigeria is as stated bellow:
Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
JAMB UTME subject combination requirements to study Nutrition and Dietetics or Human Nutrition and Dietetics in Nigerian universities
JAMB UTME subjects are the subjects which you must write in the JAMB Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The UTME subject combination requirement for Nutrition and Dietetics or Human Nutrition and Dietetics is as follows:
Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
Direct Entry requirements to study Nutrition and Dietetics or Human Nutrition and Dietetics in Nigerian universities
Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics plus the UTME requirement.
Special considerations for Direct Entry
(i) ABUAD requires three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(ii) BOWEN requires at least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include Chemistry and any of Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agricultural Science, Physics or Geography.
(iii) IBADAN preference will be given to the Professional Certificates of
a) Nigeria Registered Nurse or equivalent
b) Own Certificate of Food Science and Applied Nutrition
c) ND in Agriculture;
d) Public Health Inspectorate Certificate.
Special considerations for UTME
(i) BOWEN requires five (5) ‘0’ level credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Geography/Economics.
(ii) IBADAN same as in Medicine and Surgery.
Special considerations for UTME subjects
(i) IBADAN requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Nigerian universities where you can study Nutrition and Dietetics
BABCOCK, BAYERO,BOWEN, FUHSA, FUHS-ILA, FUTA, LCITY, MAKURDI, NASARAWA, OSUMS, SUMAS, UDU and UNIOSUN.
Nigerian universities where you can study Human Nutrition and Dietetics
AAU, ABUAD, CALABAR, DANUMS, IBADAN, PAMO, UYO and ZAMFARA.
Please note that whether it is Human Nutrition and Dietetics or Nutrition and Dietetics, the requirements are the same as it is outlined above.
